This Acai Green Smoothie is not only super healthy, it’s delicious. What makes this smoothie different than others is I have added some great superfoods that will not only give you energy, but can also help with weight loss. Let’s start with my favorite, the Acai Berry powder. This is made from the Acai berries. Have you heard of this fruit before? If not, let me tell you a little about it.

Acai berries are considered to be a superfruit and one of the healthiest food on the planet. It is a Brazilian berry that comes from the Amazon rainforest. This nutritious fruit also delivers Omegas 3, 6 and 9 and is rich in antioxidants. The Acai powder is perfect for smoothies. However, if you are pregnant this is something you should NOT use per instructions. Sorry mommies to be.

I have also add strawberry flavored Kefir. They call this the cousin of yogurt. It is a probiotic which helps boost the immune system as well as balance digestive health.

Hemp Seed is another superfood I add. It is a great source of protein and is said to help with the digestive tract as well as weight loss. You can read more about this superfood here.

This smoothie is great for breakfast, after a workout or a healthy snack. I make this for my kids as an after school snack. They think it’s a dessert like treat, but really it’s healthy for them. It’s a win win. I hope you like it as much as we do.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup frozen Strawberries
  • 1 Banana
  • 1 cup unsweetened Almond Milk
  • 1/4 cup of Kefir Strawberry Flavor
  • 1 large handful of Spinach
  • 1 leaf of Swiss Chard not stem
  • 1 tsp. Organic Acai Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Hemp Seed
  • 1/2 tsp. Flax Seed
  • A pinch of natural sweetener optional
  • 5 ice cubes

Instructions
 

  • Mix all ingredients in a blender.
  • Serve immediately.
  • Enjoy

    Wow, what a super healthy smoothie! I’m really happy to see you’ve included hemp seeds, as this gives it a huge protein kick, not to mention all the other nutritional benefits hemp seeds have to offer.
