Back in Turks for Vacation

So here I sit, looking at the ocean view from our rented house, still a little in disbelief that we’re back in Turks and Caicos, and I never thought we would be, or at least not this soon.

Last year’s trip went down as the best vacation our family has ever taken. So when it came time to plan this year, I actually debated a few different spots: Grand Cayman, the Virgin Islands, even Italy was on the table for a hot minute. But between Claire’s high school graduation, getting her ready to leave for college, and planning her graduation party, I just didn’t have the brain capacity to research and plan the way I normally do.

And honestly, I was worried I’d pick somewhere that didn’t measure up to Turks and end up a little disappointed. Meaning the water and beaches. So we talked about it as a family, and everyone agreed, let’s just go back.

I’m so glad we did.

The water here is unlike any I have ever seen, anywhere. That color still stops me in my tracks every single time. Pictures show a lot, but seeing it in person is indescribable.

A few reasons we went back to Turks and Caicos for vacation:

  • It’s genuinely easy to get to. Meaning not 12 hours or more hours of travel.
  • The water is the most gorgeous color you’ve ever seen, and the beaches are clean.
  • The restaurants are incredible, and if you know our family, you know we like to eat.
  • There’s a constant breeze that keeps it from ever feeling too hot. I love that so much.
  • Being there once already made it feel familiar, and that made everything easier.

But trust me on this one, if Turks and Caicos isn’t on your bucket list yet, it needs to be.

If you want a full post on where we ate this trip, let me know in the comments, and I’ll get one up for you.
