Planning the Perfect Picnic

Planning the perfect picnic calls for a good bottle of wine..or two!  The weather is finally warming up in Missouri, so any reason to get outside is good for me.  Today I am going to tell you how to plan the perfect wine picnic.  I was very excited to pack two bottles of Ribera y Rueda wine for our picnic!  Both a dry white and red wine.  I am the white wine drinker and my hubby is the red.

 

Here is what you need to plan the perfect Picnic:

• A blanket
• A picnic basket
• Bottles of Ribera y Rueda Wine
• Wine glasses
• Wine opener
• Cheese
• Fresh fruit
• Cheese knife

You can certainly add more food to your picnic, but sometimes less is more.  More wine that is.  😉

Once you reach the location for your picnic, lay out the blanket.  Next open the bottles of Ribera y Rueda wine and let red wine breath for approximately 10-15 minutes.  While you are waiting for the wine to breath, set out your cheese and fruit.  Now it’s time to start your picnic.

 

 

Choosing the right wine is important for your picnic.  I am very picky about my wine.  Ask anyone who knows me.  Ribera y Rueda Wine was the right choice for me.  The Rueda Verdejo had a smooth crips taste and was simply delicious!  The Ribera Tempranillo wine had a bold and ripe taste that my husband enjoyed.  The wines paired so nicely with the variety of cheese and fruit I packed.
