I created a DIY Flower Bar at one of my daughter’s parties. It’s a fun way for your guests to create their own beautiful bouquets as a special gift to take home. It’s perfect for a birthday celebration, bridal shower, baby shower, Galentine’s, graduation party, or just a gathering with friends. Here’s how you can set up the perfect flower bar at home:
DIY Flower Bar Supplies:
Here’s a list of what you’ll need to create your flower bar.
- Buckets or vases for organizing the flowers. I used this flower display stand
- Mason jars or brown paper floral sleeves for wrapping
- Ribbon or twine
- Cutting tools: Floral shears, sharp scissors for trimming the stems
- Rubber bands
- Free Printable sign with bouquet instructions
You can also click on the image to print the sign—prints on standard “8×11” paper or cardstock.
Flowers For Your Flower Bar
I went to Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods for my flowers. Trader Joe’s has the best flowers, and they are priced great. Choose a variety of different flowers and colors to act as your main flower. Remember, we are assembling a boutique. Some ideas are:
- Roses
- Peonies
- Tulips
- Hydrangas
- Sunflowers
- Lilies

Foliage Fillers & Greenery
Foliage fillers & Greenery: Don’t Skip This Part. Smaller flowers and greenery act as fillers and help give the bouquets shape, texture, and fullness. They’re essential to help balance out, making everything look complete. Some great options include:
- Baby’s breath
- Small greenery sprig
- Eucalyptus
- Ferns
- Smaller flowers
How to Set Up Your Flower Bar
- Arrange flowers and filler in vases or buckets so guests can see all their options. I used a flower stand for mine, but it’s not necessary.
- Create a wrapping station: Include kraft paper, ribbon, twine, scissors, and or mason jars.
- Add a cute sign with instructions.
Here is my Free DIY Flower Bar Sign Printable you can use at your next party.

How to Assemble Your Bouquet
- Pick Your Flowers: Start by choosing 3–5 main flowers you love (like roses, tulips, or peonies).
- Add Fillers: Mix in smaller flowers and greenery, such as baby’s breath, eucalyptus, or ferns, for fullness and balance.
- Trim the Stems: Use scissors or floral shears to cut the stems at an angle to your desired length.
- Wrap It Up or place in a mason jar: Layer kraft paper around your bouquet and tie it off with a ribbon or twine. Or place in a mason jar and tie a ribbon around the jar to give it a pretty, finished look.
